Avoid hatred, support your leader to excel in enhancing the progress of NHIS – NHIA staff advised

The Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council, who also serves as the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has encouraged staff members of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in the Bono region to consistently support and stand by their leader. Such support would not only enable the leader to thrive but also facilitate the entire team’s achievement of commendable progress.

During a courtesy visit by the Bono Regional Director of the Authority, accompanied by his staff members, to the Abanpredase Palace, Osagyefo advised the staff not to harbor envy towards their Director. Instead, he emphasized the importance of working in unity to propel the authority toward success. Through unified efforts and a shared commitment to excellence, they can significantly expedite the development and enhancement of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II also requested that the leadership of the NHIA must inform the traditional council about the challenges clients face in paying renewal fees. This initiative aims to enable the council to extend support to all vulnerable individuals within the region, ensuring they acquire and renew their health insurance cards in a timely manner, thereby facilitating their access to healthcare services when necessary.

Mr. Issac Badu Amponsah, the Bono Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), expressed gratitude in his speech to the Three Dormaa Districts, namely Dormaa East, West, and Central, for their substantial contributions to the advancement of the National Health Insurance Scheme.

He emphasized that the NHIA aims to register over 90 percent of the entire Bono Regional population, which amounts to 1,343,499 individuals, to ensure that more people benefit from Free Primary Health Care and the Mahama Care policy without experiencing any financial hardship when accessing healthcare services. He stated that, as of October, the NHIA successfully registered over 988,000 individuals, indicating a significant improvement in the number of members enrolled in the scheme with the three Dormaa Districts leading the chart.

The Public Relations Officer for the Bono Region National Health Insurance Scheme, Mr. Clement Obeng, assured Osagyefo of the scheme’s success in the region during the end of assessment of the NHIS as a result of the support from Nananom. He expressed his gratitude to Osagyefo for accepting the ambassadorial role of the scheme in the Bono Region and emphasized that the NHIS would accompany Him on visits for cleanup exercises to register community members, thereby expanding the scheme’s coverage in the region.

Mr. Obeng also took the opportunity to request Osagyefo’s assistance in providing the Dormaa Central and West District Directorate of the NHIS with a vehicle to enhance their mobility and service delivery.
