Aviation Physician Receives Award

Dr R.O. Addae, a consultant aviation physician in Ghana, was recently honoured by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the US Department of Transportation for his outstanding contribution to aviation safety, spanning 30 years.

The award took place at a meeting of Aerospace Medical Association attended by 300 aviation physicians in Tampa, Florida, USA.

He was presented with a citation signed by the Federal Air Surgeon, Dr Joh L. Jordan.

Speaking to the paper on his return to Accra from Florida where he received the award, Dr Addae, the only African to be so honoured, said it was an honour for Ghana.
