Autopsy: Exopa boss died of acute appendicitis

The late Exopa boss, Ibrahim Sima, died from acute appendicitis, an autopsy conducted on his remains has revealed.

The report also adds that a resultant condition known as Purulent Peritonitis most likely contributed to the death of the ex-model.

Mr Sima was serving a 15-year jail term at the Nsawam Prisons, but died at the Police Hospital in Accra last Thursday, after he reported sick.

His family earlier blamed the Police Hospital for his death, accusing them of not giving him the needed healthcare. However, officials of the Police Hospital have denied any wrongdoing.

The Exopa Chief Executive Officer was sentenced to 15 years by an Accra Fast Track High Court in September 2011 for possessing and attempting to export 4.9 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in four tubers of yam.
