Auto Mechanic convicted over cocoa beans theft

A Dunkwa Circuit Court in the Central Region has sentenced a 21-year old Auto Mechanic, Kwesi Takyi alias ‘Ibrahim’ to 12-month imprisonment in hard labour for stealing 2 bags of cocoa beans and a motor bike worth GHc1,500.00 (thousand five hundred Ghana Cedis).

A Freelance Journalist in the area, Gabriel Bediako explained that two persons who stole the cocoa beans along with the accused are on the run.

The said cocoa buyer (name withheld) relaid information to the police when the accused wanted to sell the cocoa beans to him at Adwenepanaye.

The accused pleaded guilty to the offence and the court presided over by His. Honour Samuel Asare Nyarko jailed him accordingly.
