Auto-Electrician remanded for impregnating 13-year-old girl

Asamankese, Jan. 29, GNA – A circuit court at Asamankese remanded Yaw Adade, an auto-electrician, who allegedly defiled and impregnated a 13-year-old girl. Adade who pleaded guilty, would reappear before court on February 4. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) K.G. Adu, told the court that the girl’s (aunt) noticed that she (girl) was pregnant when she visited her (aunt) in Accra during the Christmas holidays.

Prosecution said the matter was reported to the father of the girl at Nyanoa and when she (girl) was interrogated, she mentioned Adade as been responsibility for the pregnancy. DSP Adu said the accused person denied responsibility of the pregnancy when he was summoned before the elders at Nyanoa. Prosecution said however, Adade admitted impregnating the girl after his arrest.
