Authorities of Annor Adjaye Senior High appeal for infrastructure

Ezinlibo (W/R), Nov. 5, GNA – The Assistant Headmaster of the Annor Adjaye Senior High School at Ezinlibo in the Jomoro District, Mr Gabriel Ackah, has appealed to the Government for assistance to help meet the needs of the school’s increasing population. In an interview with the GNA, he explained that the school lacked the necessary infrastructure to accommodate both the teachers and students.

Some of the concerns he mentioned included the inadequate dormitory facility for boys and girls, inadequate teachers’ bungalows, administration block, assembly hall and classrooms, and the absence of computer facilities. Mr Ackah explained that out of 45 teachers at the school, only seven were housed on campus. The rest lived in nearby communities. This, he noted, did not augur well for effective studies. He said currently the assembly hall was being used as an additional classroom following the arrival of 338 new students. Mr Ackah said with the arrival of new students, the population of the school increased from 850 to 1,235, making it difficult for the school to house them. Currently, he said, the boys were being accommodated in a temporary wooden structure. He said work had started on the construction of a new 6 classroom block for the school but appeal for more assistance, as this was not enough. 5 Nov. 10
