Audit team begins probe of financial administration at STMA

Sekondi, March 23,GNA – An Audit team has begun probing the financia= l administration of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA). A reliable source at the STMA told the GNA on Wednesday that the investigations might touch on projects, contracts and the entire finance of the assembly. The probe was ordered by President John Evans Atta Mills following the removal of Mr Kobina Pra Annan from office as the Metropolitan Chief Executive on March 16. The source said the investigations have not interrupted work at the STMA as workers are going about their normal duties without hindrance. The forensic audit is to ensure that funds allocated to, and generated by the assembly were utilised judiciously. Meanwhile, the President had nominated Captain Anthony R. Cudjoe (RTD) as the STMA Chief Executive to be formally endorsed.
