Atwima-Mponua NDC elects new executives

Nyinahin (Ash), Nov. 20, GNA – The Ashanti Regional first Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Alex Sawyer Attivor, has called on members to remain steadfast, united and loyal to the party to boost its chances of retaining power in 2012. He was addressing a delegates’ conference, organised by Atwima-Mponua Constituency of NDC to elect new officers, at Nyinahin. Mr Attivor asked party supporters to exercise restraint as government was putting in place the necessary interventions to make life better for all.

Mr Akwasi Twumasi, the incumbent Chairman, and 11 other members of the old executive, including Hamidu Abubakar, Vice Chairman, Dickson Timube, Secretary, J.K. Osei, Organizer, Musah Ibrahim, Treasurer, and Alhaji Issaka Combet, Youth Organizer, retained their positions unopposed, in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission.

Madam Margaret Dufie polled 51 votes to defeat Comfort Nkrumah, who had 21 votes, to become new women’s organizer while Michael Seidu was elected as deputy propaganda secretary.

Mr Twumasi commended the delegates for ensuring peaceful elections and pledged that the officials would work hard to support the party. 20 Nov 09
