Atwima-Mponua appeals for more health personnel

Nyinahin (Ash) Jan. 28, GNA – The Atwima-Mponua District Health Directorate, has appealed for more medical assistants and other health professionals to assist raise the quality of care for patients. The district has only one medical assistant, who retires in February. Besides, all 12 health centres in the area are without pharmacists. Ms Belinda Baffoe Bonney, District Health Director of Health Service, was speaking at an annual performance review meeting at Nyinahin. The meeting discussed the challenges ahead and mapped out strategies to promote quality health care delivery. Ms Bonney said the directorate was determined to maintain high level of professionalism, ensure team work and become more innovative in the discharge of their duties. She said the health personnel would make sure that people have access to improved health care in the district. Ms Bonney spoke of plans to build community health planning service centres as part of the drive to bring health care to the doorsteps of the people. Mrs Theresa Adomako Tawiah, District Chief Executive, said the assembly was engaged in the construction of accommodation for health personnel, refurbishment of health facilities and provision of some vital logistics to help expand medical care. 28 Jan. 10
