Atwima Head Teachers end management and evaluation workshop

Nkawie (Ash), July 12, GNA – The Atwima District Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS) has organised a day’s workshop on “Management and Evaluation” for more than 100 Head Teachers from the Atwima-Mponua Sub-District at Nkawie.

The workshop, which would be extended to Atwima-Nwabiagya Sub-District, was aimed at equipping the participants to improve and strengthen supervision and efficiency.

Topics discussed included: “Leadership Skills”; “Communication Skills; “Report Writing” and “Preparation of Action Plan and Proposal Writing”.

Mr Baffour Asare-Bediako, Assistant Director of Education in-charge of Human Resource Management and Development at Atwima District Education Office, stressed that good leadership qualities were crucial for effective and efficient management and supervision of schools.

He asked Head Teachers to have an achievable and measurable vision and mission for their schools.

Mr Asare-Bediako commended members of the COHBS for their foresight for initiating the series of training programmes and expressed the hope that the knowledge acquired would be made available to their subordinates.

Mr Stephen Gyasi Debrah of Information, Education and Communication Unit of the Directorate, asked the participants to be honest and accurate when writing and submitting reports to the office. Mr Simon Addai, Atwima-Mponua Chairman of COHBS and Headmaster of Kufuor Junior Secondary School, advised his colleagues to continue to learn and conduct research to improve upon their professional and academic knowledge.
