Atwima donates school uniforms to 100 needy pupils

Hiawu-Besease (Ash), May 12, GNA- The Atwima district education office has presented school uniforms, school bags and exercise books worth over 15 million cedis to 100 needy primary school pupils in the district.

The package formed part of assistance from the Department for International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom (UK) under its QUIPS project aimed at enhancing access and quality education in basic schools.

Mr F.C.K. Ntim-Gyakari, Nkawie Circuit Supervisor, announced this when he presented some of the items to four pupils of Hiawu-Besease Methodist and local authority primary schools at an educational forum organised by the local School Management Committee (SMC) at Hiawu-Besease on Tuesday.

He said the DFID’s support has increased and improved tremendously the enrolment and retention of children in school.
