Attempted burglary at Sekyere District MHIS offices fails

Mampong (Ash), July.8, GNA- An attempt by some unidentified robbers to break into the office of the West District Mutual Health Insurance failed as they could not break the padlock on the main metal gate to the office building.

Mr. Rockson Bronnie, the scheme manager who briefed the Ghana News Agency said on Monday when the management and staff reported for duty, they could not open the padlock on the main gate and after a careful observation, they detected that somebody had tampered with the lock in an attempt to break it.

When the GNA arrived at the scene, both the management, staff and clients looked desperate, waiting for more than forty-five minutes for a carpenter to forcibly open the padlock to enable both the staff and clients to enter.

Two detective police officers at the scene disclosed that there were two reported burglary cases at Mampong Township on Sunday night where thieves succeeded in breaking into two storey buildings and took away unspecified items worth millions of cedis.

They said no arrests had been made and that they were investigating. The GNA could not get further information from the Mampong District Police Office and the Divisional Head quarters because both Commanders were not available.
