Attafuah elected Vice President of IMAGE

Accra, April 16, GNA – Professor Ken Agyemang Attafuah, Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority, has been elected Vice President of IMAGE, a multi-national association of identification systems users and experts group.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday said the election took place at the bi-annual Users Group Conference of IMAGE in Paris, France, that brought together all representatives of 123 national law-enforcement and civil agencies from 63 countries and five international agencies.

The statement said: “The Vice President is a member of the five-member board responsible for the management of the IMAGE Group in the areas of criminal justice, boarder control and identification systems.”

It said the election of Professor Attafuah to the Vice Presidential level lifted the image of the National Identification Authority and put Ghana high among the list of countries embracing identification systems for the development of their citizens.

It also provided Ghana with the opportunity to access all necessary information for the promotion of its identification system, it added.
