Press Release

Season’s Greetings To All Moslems

Muslims all over the world are today celebrating the Eid-Ul-Adha Festival which signifies the ultimate sacrifice made by the Prophet Abraham by giving his son to Allah and I congratulate our Moslem brethren for successfully going through the period of fasting.

Obviously, the fasting period provided our brethren with an opportunity to renew their faith in Islam and to pray for what is good for themselves and the nation and I have no doubt that is what they did.

As prayers are being said all over the country today to mark Eid-Ul-Adha, I entreat our Moslem brethren to pray for the blessings of Allah the Almighty to continue to abound in Ghana.

As we enter an election year, their prayers should also be for Ghana to go through the new year without any untoward happening that would destroy the peace and stability of the nation.

Ghanaian pilgrims to the Holy Land of Mecca went through some very trying moments and my heart goes out to them in the wake of news reports indicating that they will again face difficulties in making the journey back home. It is my hope that the appropriate authorities will do all it takes to mitigate whatever difficulties the pilgrims may encounter out there.

Bar’Kaa Da Sallah to all Moslems and may Allah the Almighty and Merciful continue to bless our homeland Ghana.
