Atobiase JSS wins quiz competition on AIDS

Asarekrom (Ash), Aug 10, GNA – Atobiase District Assembly Junior Secondary School bagged 37 points to win an inter-schools quiz competition organised last Friday by Future Protectors, a Community-Based Organisation (CBO) in the Adansi South District, on HIV/AIDS.

The quiz was designed not only to test the knowledge of the pupils on HIV/AIDS but also to encourage them to take information on the disease seriously.

Subin Camp JSS took the second position with 36 points and were followed at the third position by Asarekrom JSS who had 34 points, while Nkranfo-Nkwanta JSS bagged 17 points to take the fourth position. For their prizes, each of the participants was presented with educational materials.

Speaking at the function, Mr Agyenim Boateng, Project Co-ordinator of Future Protectors, expressed concern about the way some youth, particularly students, engage in casual sex with careless abandon and asked them to rather stick to their books to empower them for the future.
