Asuogyaman Secondary Technical to be renamed

Aworowa (B/A), June 24, GNA- The Asuogyaman Secondary Technical School at Aworowa-Akrofrom, will be renamed after Nana Akumfi Ameyaw, the late Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Area.

Mr Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the School, told the GNA on Friday that the Broad and opinion leaders of the area took the decision to honour the late paramount chief for his contribution to the development of the area and the Brong-Ahafo Region in general. He said after seeking the approval of the Ghana Education Service, the School would be renamed Akumfi Ameyaw Secondary Technical School.

Mr Agyemang-Badu said the late Omanhene played a pioneering role in the creation of the Brong-Ahafo Region and assisted in the establishment of a number of educational institutions in the Techiman area and that the School would erect a statue of him.
