Meanwhile, the Assembly’s 2009 expected grant did not materialized. Grant expected was GH¢1.571 million but it received GH¢695,000 in the 2009 year.

Mr Ahiakpor said, this year’s projected revenue is GH¢235,137 with an expected grant of GH¢2.178 million. He said the Assembly was currently undertaking a lot of development projects ranging from construction of roads, school building and markets to open up the district’s economic and business potentials. Mr Ahiakpor said the Assembly was constructing three six-unit classroom blocks at the Frankadua Baptist Primary School, Nuriyya Islamic Primary School at Akosombo and Akyease District Assembly Primary School under the “Schools-Under-Trees Project”. The DCE said all the project contracts had been awarded. He said under the same project, processing of documents for the award of contract for five schools, which included Adjena Primary School, Adjabui Primary School, Dodi Asantekrom Junior High School (JHS), Yenianma JHS, and Kudikope Primary School, would soon be completed for work to start. 21 Oct. 10
