Asunafo South residents appeal for medical doctors

Residents of the Asunafo South district of the Brong Ahafo region are appealing to President Akufo Addo to come to their aid by resourcing their health facilities with medical doctors.

This came to light when the assemblyman for the Kukuom Abr?mamu, Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah, organised a health screening on Sunday for some 2000 people from Sankore, Kwapong and Kukuom.

Beneficiaries were provided with medication. Speaking to 3news, Ing. Amoa-Mensah said with a “population [of Asunafo South] of over 100, 000 inhabitants, the entire district does not have a single medical doctor employed by the government” to attend to the health care needs of his people in the district.

He also said the Asunafo South district has no government hospital “that is verily in demand.” The Kukuom Health Centre, he said, is well positioned in terms of infrastructure to be upgraded to a district hospital.
