Asunafo North MP loses primaries

Goaso (B/A), July 26, GNA – Mr Benjamin Osei Kufuor, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, in the Brong Ahafo Region, has lost the Party’s primaries to his main challenger, Mr Robert Sarfo-Mensah.

Mr Sarfo Mensah, 34, a former staff of the Brong Ahafo Regional Value Added Tax Office, beat Mr Kufuor polled 42 as against 17 votes by the MP in the election supervised by Officials of the Electoral Commission.

Intra-party bickering and allegations of vote buying characterized the elections.
