Asunafo District Assembly undertakes projects

Goaso (B/A), Jan. 21, GNA – The Asunafo District Assembly in Brong Ahafo has within the past three years undertaken 52 school projects, including an ultra-modern two-storey girls dormitory for Kukuom Agricultural Secondary School. The projects, which are mostly blocks of classrooms, with offices, stores, libraries and places of convenience, are at various levels of construction.

Mr George Yaw Boakye, Asunafo District Chief Executive, noted that some of the contractors deserved commendation but expressed regret that others had not lived up to expectation, during an inspection of the projects. While some projects have reached roofing levels, others have not been started at all, he said.

Mr Boakye cautioned the contractors against doing shoddy work and urged the beneficiaries to constantly monitor the projects. He cited an instance in the Ahafo Ano North District where a community rejected a HIPC funded school project because of it was not properly built and urged the people to support the campaign against shoddy work.
