Asuma Banda not God; Akufo-Addo will be president – Mac Manu

The newly appointed 2016 Campaign Manager for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Peter Mac Manu has launched a riposte at the former member of the Council of State, Alhaji Asoma Banda over his damning political assessment of the party’s Flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo.

He said it does not lie in the mouth of Alhaji Asoma Banda to declare who will be President of Ghana or not, since whoever rules the country in the future is the sole preserve of God to determine.

Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues show, the business mogul stated that New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will never get the nod of Ghanaians to become a President of the country.

“The truth is he [Nana Akufo-Addo] can never be president… You see, to be a President, you must have certain structure, intelligence.”

He explained that for someone to become President, the person must have both wisdom and intelligence, adding “you see, people take certificates in university to be intelligent, No! You must have a wisdom.”

However speaking on Neat FM Monday, Peter Mac Manu, who took strong exception to the unpalatable comments of Alhaji Asoma Banda, stated that this assertion does not reflect the general view and believe of majority of Ghanaians.

He nonetheless noted that such comment in as much as it’s unfortunate, is a wake-up call for the campaign team and the entire party to work tirelessly to ensure victory for Nana Akufo Addo in the 2016 elections.

“We take such comments in our stride, we’re going to work assiduously to prove the naysayers wrong, Nana Akufo-Addo will surely become the next President of Ghana.”
