Association of Private Security organizations inaugurated.

The chairman of the newly inaugurated Association of Private Security Organizations (APSOG), Mr. C. K. Kuadey today denied that some private security organizations are underpaying their staff. He said at the moment all privately owned security companies in the country are paying their staff not less than 85 thousand cedis a month, adding that they are taking measures to regularize the salary structure of their staff. On the issue of training courses for their personnel, Mr. Kuadey said the association would now centralize the training activities of their personnel so as to benefit all of them. This will take the form of lectures, drills and the basic rudiments of discipline. Mr. Kuadey was speaking at the inauguration of the association in Accra today. Presently, there are 25 private security organizations operating in the Greater Accra region. They include Lion’s Security, Securicom, Wackenhut, among others.
