Association donates to Sunyani Regional Hospital

Sunyani, June 08, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Regional Association in Japan on Thursday donated 20 wheel chairs valued at about 50 million cedis to the Regional Hospital in Sunyani.

Presenting the items Mr Frank Adjei Ntekor, Chairman of the Association, said the association, which was formed four years ago, aimed at assisting the needy in the society.

He said the association read about the hospital on the Internet and thought since it is a new hospital it would be appropriate for such donation to meet some of the hospital’s needs. He said the association has plans to build community libraries in the rural areas.

Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Ibn Mohammed, the Regional Director of Health Services who received the item, expressed appreciation to the association.

He said it was painful that the cripples who are in dire need of the wheelchairs could not afford them. He stated that some of the wheelchairs would be sent to the districts and called on other benevolent organizations to assist the hospital.
