Association donates to Cuban medical brigade

Tamale, May 22, GNA – The Timyumtaba Association of North America (TANA), a social group of Northern Ghanaians in North America, has donated five motorcycles valued GH¢ 6,000 to the Cuban medical brigade in Tamale, in appreciation of the selfless medical service it was rendering to the people of the Northern Region. Mr. Mohammed Yussif Alhassan, secretary of the association, who made the presentation on behalf of the group in Tamale on Friday, commended the medical brigade for providing the people with medical services.

He said “They have indeed filled a void created by the lack of healthcare specialists at the Tamale Teaching Hospital”. Mr. Alhassan said the provision of the motorcycles would facilitate the work of members of the medical brigade. Mr. Stephen Sumani Nayina, Northern Regional Minister, who received the motorcycles on behalf of the medical officers, commended the association for its gesture and urged other organizations and individuals of northern descent resident abroad to contribute to the development of the North.
