Association donates beds to Janga Health Centre

Janga (N/R), May 30, GNA – The Greater Accra branch of the Janga Youth Association, on Saturday donated seven hospital beds and mattresses valued at 24.5 million cedis to the Janga Health Centre in the West Mamprusi District.

Mr Samuel S. Nayina, National President of the Association, presented the items to Mr Mohammed Amin Adam, Deputy Northern Regional Minister.

Mr Nayina said the gesture was the Association’s “widow’s mite” to support the Health Centre to offer good services. He also said the donation was made possible through monthly contributions of members and appealed to individuals and organizations to support the Centre.

Mr Nayina appealed to the government to provide the Centre with an ambulance to facilitate its work.

Mr Adam commended the Association for the gesture and appealed to other groups to contribute to the development of the area. He advised the people to stop the annual bush burning and indiscriminate tree felling for charcoal burning to protect the environment and instead engage in agro-forestry to serve as alternative source of fuel.

Madam Bernadette Wojeo, Midwife in charge of the Health Centre, appealed to the health authorities to post more medical personnel to the area. 30 May 05
