Assist apprentices with loans

Nkawie (Ash), Dec 31, GNA- Mr Tutu Asenso, Nkawie Zonal Chairman of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) has appealed to the government to assist products of the association with loans.

This, he said would help to address some of the pertinent issues in the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy.

Mr Asenso who was speaking at the third annual graduation ceremony of 30 dressmakers at Nkawie on Thursday, said the best alternative to those who could not continue their education was to give them vocational training.

He said the drifting of the youth from the rural areas to the cities in search of non-existing jobs would also be minimised. Nana Afua Gyinaye, Obaapanin of Nkawie-Kuma Maase, who chaired the function, told the trainees that they had been given skills, which would make them make a living for life.
