Assin Manso (C/R), March 28, GNA – The Assin Koroye Kuo has expressed its gratitude to the government for creating the Assin South District with its headquarters at Assin Manso. In a statement signed by the acting chairman, Akwasi Nsia-Asare the association also expressed appreciation to the chiefs, past and present members of parliament, the district assemblies and citizens who fought for the creation of the district. It said now that the new district and its capital Assin Manso were in place the people should focus their attention on its inauguration and smooth and positive take off and its efficient and successful administration for the benefit of the people.
The statement said in selecting a town as the new district capital, it was only natural that different towns would wish they were selected, but once the government in its own wisdom made a selection based on objective order of merit and in the general interest of the people, all such wishes must be drowned in the interest of the people. The statement also congratulated the chiefs on their unity and co-operation “and the peace we are enjoying” and expressed the hope that these important attributes, which had characterised their relationship over the years, would be made to come into full play.
