Assin Foso-bound minibus crashes into cargo truck

Apam Junction (C/R), March 16, GNA – An Assin Foso-bound Mercedes 207 commercial bus on Saturday evening crashed into a cargo truck at Apam Junction, injuring 22 passengers on board, police and hospital sources said.

The bus took off from the Kaneshie lorry terminal. The injured, which were admitted at the Apam Catholic Hospital, included six students from the Assin Manso Senior High School and the driver of the bus.

Hospital authorities told the Ghana News Agency that they were responding to treatment.

According to the Police, the cargo truck was taking a turn at the junction when the bus ran into it. The driver of the truck, Mr Paul Acquah escaped unhurt and is helping in police investigations.
