Assin Apimanim Traditional Council assist newly created District

Assin Manso (C/R), July 15, GNA – The Assin Apimanim Traditional Council, has offered free of charge, one bungalow, 12 offices and common hall to support the new created Assin South District Assembly.

Barimba Kwame Nkyi XII, the Omanhene (Paramount chief) of the area who made this known in a resolution adopted by the chiefs at a traditional council meeting at Manso, commended the government for creating the District.

He said the new District would ensure equitable distribution of the national cake and also open up the area for speedy development. Barimba Nkyi gave the assurance that the chiefs and people of the area would ensure that the necessary facilities were provided to enhance the smooth take off of the District.

He expressed regret about the lukewarm attitude of the citizens towards the payment of a special levy for the Manso Educational Endowment Fund and the low enrolment of children in school. Barima Nkyi said only two children from the area were attending the Manso Secondary School and appealed to parents to help reverse the trend.
