Kumasi, Dec 24, GNA- Mr Saeed Owusu-Brobbey, Ashanti Regional Manager of the National Board for Small-Scale Industries, has challenged entrepreneurs to constantly research into new ways of expanding and facilitating the growth of their businesses. He stressed: “It will be difficult for the nation to reach a middle income status by 2010, if small-scale entrepreneurs do not strive to be resourceful.” Mr Owusu-Brobbey was addressing participants at a day’s sensitisation workshop for members of the Ashanti branch of the Association of Small-Scale Industries (ASSI) in Kumasi on Wednesday. It was organised by ASSI and sponsored by the Danish International Agency (DANIDA), for 45 participants. The workshop was aimed at prompting the members to update their technological competence and adhere to business regulations to facilitate their contribution to national development. Mr Owusu-Brobbey advised the private sector to contribute meaningfully to the Golden Age of Business by taking advantage of the many opportunities to augment their businesses. Mr Kwame Buor, Regional Chairman of ASSI, urged the members to seek financial support from the DANISH- sponsored Business Sector Advocacy Challenge, to improve on the efficiency of their businesses. 24 Dec. 04
