Assemblymen urged not to dodge work

under pretext of attending meetings

Nkoranza (B/A), Nov. 24, GNA – Mr Jarvis Agyeman-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education has advised Assembly Members who are teachers or in other areas of the public service not to absent themselves from their workplaces.

He noted that such Assembly Members had taken undue advantage of their position to absent themselves from their workplaces to engage in personal activities under the pretext of attending Assembly meetings.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview at Nkoranza, the District Director said such attitude was unhealthy and urged Assembly Members to show much concern at their workplaces as absenteeism and apathy to work adversely affected productivity.

He also expressed regret about the apathetic attitude of some communities towards education.

Mr Agyeman-Badu appealed to Assembly Members, Unit Committees and traditional authorities to impress it upon the people to give priority to the education of their children.
