Assemblyman to contest PNC primaries in Navrongo

Navrongo (UER), Jan. 3, GNA – Mr. Braimah Sanjage, 32, Assemblyman for Namolo/Saboro electoral area in the Navrongo Central constituency has declared his intention to contest the People’s National Convention (PNC) primaries to elect the party’s Parliamentary candidate for the general election.

Mr. Sanjage in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Navrongo said the people of Navrongo had lost faith in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the MP for the area, adding that the PNC was bound to take the seat.

The Assemblyman said that though the fight for the Navrongo seat in this year’s elections would be keenly contested, he was sure “to sweep majority of the votes to grab the seat for the PNC.”

He said Navrongo Central was a PNC stronghold until the late John Setuni Achuliwor came to “cross carpet” to the NPP, adding that the people had decided to trace their roots since the NPP was not favouring them.

He said as an Assemblyman for the area he had worked with the communities and knew their problems and could use his experience to bring the people together to develop Navrongo.

He said: “I am only an Assemblyman and I have been able to facilitate the provision of five boreholes and one public toilet for six communities through the Community Water and Sanitation Project”. “I will therefore, listen to the people’s cry and bring to them what they want when I become an MP.”

Mr Sanjage appealed to the people to vote for a candidate who knows the peculiar problems of the people, but not some one who would only come to ask the people about their needs but would do nothing about them.
