Assemblyman construct toilet facility for community

Atobiase (Ash), Jan 16, GNA – Mr Isaac Sarkodie, the Assemblyman for Adansi-Atobiase electoral area, has constructed a six-seat toilet costing 16.4 million cedis for the community.

The Adansi South District National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) assisted with cement and roofing sheets while the community provided communal labour.

Mr Sarkodie said it was to fulfil a promise he made to the people during his campaign for the position of assemblyman three years ago and also to reduce the rate at which people defecate indiscriminately in the bush and along the road.

Inaugurating the project at the weekend Mr Francis Dorpenyoh, the Adansi South District Chief Executive, commended Mr Sarkodie for his initiative.

Nana Kofi Owusu, Krontihene of Atobiase, warned that anyone caught defecating in the bush or elsewhere would not be spared now that the town had a place of convenience. He appealed to the district assembly to assist the community to construct another toilet since the one cannot cope with the increase town’s large population.
