Assembly women attends workshop on public speaking

Bolgatanga, April 25, GNA- More than 30 assembly women in the Upper East Region, have attended a three-day workshop on public speaking and advocacy skills in Bolgatanga. The women were drawn from the Bawku East, Bawku West, Talensi/Nabdam and Bongo district assemblies.

Global Rural Community Development and Advocacy Centre (CODAC) a non-governmental organisation organised the workshop. Topics treated included the, “Constitution”, ” The Domestic Violence

Bill” and “Women and Children’s Rights”. Mr Oscar Kanwilli, Board member of CODAC, asked the participants to live up to their responsibilities to make grassroot democracy a reality. He said they should be able to initiate and advocate projects in their areas.

Madam Rosemary Kambunga, a Resource Person, called on assembly women to share experiences and forge unity of purpose. 25 April 05
