Assembly warns consultants against shoddy works

Zabzugu (N/R), Aug. 26, GNA- The Zabzugu/Tatale District Assembly has warned consultants operating in the area to stop approving shoddy works executed by contractors in the district.

The Assembly said: “We will no longer entertain consultants whose supervision of contracts is deplorable”.

It noted that most of the projects supervised by the consultants “deteriorate in no time”.

The warning came from the Executive, Finance and Administration sub-Committees of the Assembly at a meeting at Zabzugu on Wednesday. Alhaji Yakubu Bukari, the District Chief Executive who addressed the meeting expressed concern about the low rate of repayment of loans granted to some communities under the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) and urged beneficiaries to repay promptly for others to benefit. He asked the Assembly Members to team up with the chiefs, unit committee members and the electorate to maintain the peace prevailing in the district.

Alhaji Bukari reminded the Assembly Members to remain non-partisan and promote peace in their communities. 26 Aug 04
