Assembly votes GH?662,000.00 towards 3 projects

The Asante-Akim Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Braimah Boyong, has performed the ceremony for construction works to start on three development projects being implemented at a total cost of GH?662,000.00.

These include a three-unit classroom block with an office, staff common room and washrooms at Praaso, a kindergarten block at Anowuokrom and a slaughter house with kraal at Bomireso.

They are being funded from the District Development Facility (DDF) and expected to be ready in six months.

Alhaji Boyong said the assembly would continue to give priority to education and health and invest in these areas.

He noted that the kindergarten when completed, would save kids of Anowuokrom the trouble of making daily round trip of about nine kilometres to attend school at Nsiakrom, something he acknowledged as punishing.

He announced plans to add a primary school to the kindergarten and appealed to the chief to make land available for this.

Touching on the slaughter house, the MCE, said it would be equipped with up-to-date facilities to enhance meat safety.

Alhaji Boyong gave the assurance that the assembly would ensure that there was fair distribution of projects across the municipality to transform the living conditions of the population.

He asked the people to show ownership of the projects provided in their communities by the assembly.
