Assembly supports disaster victims

Nyinahin (Ash), Aug. 13, GNA – The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly has presented 100 bags of cement and 68 bundles of roofing sheets in support of the rehabilitation of houses damaged by the recent rainstorm that hit the area.

A heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds, wrecked dozens of building at Agogoso, Akonkye, Akotaa and Nyinahin.

Mrs Theresah Adomako Tawiah, the District Chief Executive, handed over the items to the District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) at a ceremony held at Nyinahin.

She said the assembly’s gesture is to assist bring some relief to the disaster victims.

Mr Assibey pledged to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution of the materials.

He urged the people to plant trees to serve as windbreak in the communities.
