Jacobu (Ash), Dec 4, GNA – The Amansie Central District Assembly spent more than 45 million cedis to collect heaped refuse in the Jacobu township as part of the assembly’s plans to improve sanitation and also beautify the capital of the new district.
Mr Kwame Asamoah-Boateng, the District Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Jacobu that the assembly had also constructed streets in line with the beautification agenda of the capital. He said the assembly had completed a streets lighting project for the township.
Mr Asamoah-Boateng said another area of concern for the assembly was the improvement of health care delivery in the district. The assembly is spending 120 million cedis on a health centre at Mile 14 whilst a clinic was being constructed at Numereso. Mr Asamoah-Boateng added that a health centre at Fenaso-Fawoman was under construction.
The DCE announced that the assembly voted 59.6 million cedis to support the districts’ roll back malaria programme. “There is the need to help improve health care delivery in the district”, he said. Mr Asamoah-Boateng indicated his preparedness to co-operate with all organs, especially chiefs to facilitate the development of the new district.
