Assembly presents items to Muslims for Ramadan

Tepa (Ash), Nov 22, GNA- The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly on Wednesday presented food items worth three million cedis to the Muslim community in the district towards the Eud-il-Fitr festival.

The items included five bags of sugar, four bags of rice and a quantity of milk.

Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive, who made the presentation, said it was the assembly’s support to the Muslims after their long fasting.

He also asked them to use the occasion to pray for peace for the nation in the ensuing year.

Receiving the items on behalf of Muslims, Mallam Nuhu, the Ahafo-Ano North Chief Imam, expressed appreciation to the assembly for the gesture and gave the assurance that they will always pray for peace, stability and unity in the country.
