Assembly present items to Secondary school

Gomoa Mozano (C/R), May 21, GNA-The Gomoa District Assembly on Friday presented a 20-inch television set, a deck and a cash of three million cedis to the Gomoa Mozano Senior Secondary School (SSS) in appreciation of its impressive performance in last year’s SSS Certificate Examinations.

Ms Joyce Aidoo, the District Chief Executive, who presented the items, said the assembly would continue to support educational institutions to improve teaching and learning in the area. The Headmaster of the School, Mr. Emmanuel Tsibu who received the items, thanked the assembly for the gesture and promised to use them for the benefit of the students.

He appealed to individuals, organisations and the government to build classrooms and bungalows for the schools. Mr Tsibu said that the school, which started in 1992 with 34 students, now had a student population of 1,181. He said with the exception of the headmaster who stays on campus, all tutors came from Agona Swedru, Apam and other communities near the school to teach, affecting teaching and learning.
