Assembly members urged to be beacons of unity

Wenchi (B/A), May 23, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Deputy Regional Minister Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah has urged assembly members to forge ahead in unity and share ideas that would promote development into their communities.

Mr Baffour-Awuah, who is also the Acting District Chief Executive for Wenchi, asked them to guard against disputes and other divisive tendencies likely to undermine the progress of the localities. He was addressing a meeting of the Assembly during which Mr Kwaku Asamoah, a 54-year-old Teacher was elected as the Presiding Member. Mr Yeboah expressed his gratitude to the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and called for their support.

The position became vacant in October last year, when the former Presiding Member, Nana Rex Owusu-Ansah a retired Clerk of parliament was appointed to serve as a the Clerk at the African Union of Parliament in South Africa. 23 May 05
