Assembly member wants re-election

Mr Benjamin Amankwaah, an incumbent assembly member for Ohemaa park electoral area in the New Juaben Municipality, has appealed to the electorate to show interest in the upcoming district elections by going out to cast their votes.

Speaking in an interview with the GNA in Koforidua, he said the district assembly elections were important and urged the public to show interest by voting for dedicated and committed persons who would work in their interest.

He said assembly members were not paid and that their job was purely based on sacrifice and urged the electorate to look out for honest and dedicated persons who would champion their cause.

Mr Amankwaah, who wants a second term, said during his first term he represented the area well by instituting communal labour which had improved sanitation and brought about unity in the area.

He said had street lights provided and a drainage system that had reduced flooding.

Mr Amankwaah said having been there before he knew how to lobby for their needs and if he was retained he would lobby for a fence wall to be constructed around the public toilet and the dump site to prevent the waste products moving into people houses when it rained.

He said he had an unfinished business and therefore appealed to the electorate to support him win the elections.
