Assembly member repairs streetlights at Apam

Apam (C/R), Aug. 7, GNA – Mr Henry Acquah, an assembly member for Kantam-Amamodo Electoral Area of Apam has repaired two damaged concrete light poles at Apam. The repair works, which cost 800,000 cedis, was Mr Acquah’s personal contribution toward improving the street lighting system in the town. The assemblyman appealed to citizens of Apam to rekindle their communal spirits, which, according to him, was completely dead. He noted that development of the town depended on the citizens themselves, adding, “no one will come from elsewhere to do it for us”. Miss Grace Okoe-Santana, an aspiring candidate for Alata-Akobirem Electoral Area, deplored the poor sanitation in the town and gave the assurance that she would tackle sanitation with the seriousness it deserved when she is elected. Miss Okoe-Santana appealed to the Ghana Water Company to restore water supply, which had ceased more than two years ago, to the area. 07 August 06
