Assembly Member advises electorate to unite

Baamiri (B/A), Aug. 24, GNA – Mr John Kwasi Kwao, Assembly Member for Baamiri Electoral Area of the Techiman Municipal Assembly, has appealed to the electorate to forge ahead in unity and eschew negative practices that could divide them during the political campaigns and the 2004 elections in December.

Addressing a news conference at Baamiri, Mr Kwao especially urged the youth to desist from unnecessary discussions and debates, as well as the use of provocative language and insults against their political opponents to avoid quarrels and violence.

He called on the people not to allow partisan politics to divide them, saying, the community of Baamiri had for many years lived together in unity and shared ideas towards the development of the area.

The Assembly Member advised the youth against creating confusion at the rallies of parties they did not belong to since the practice was an offence.

Mr Kwao called on eligible voters to exercise their franchise during the December 2004 elections to elect a Government of their choice.
