Mr. N.K.S. Onaesis Anderson, chairman of Senya Town Council, through whose instrumentality the donation was made, said the gifts were the organisation’s contribution towards the promotion of basic education in the traditional area.

Mr. Esseku made the commendation, when he addressed the annual appraisal meeting of the chiefs and people of Krobonshie, near Senya-Beraku, on Thursday.

He cautioned the people against land and chieftaincy litigation because they retard social and economic progress.

Rather, they should unite and assist the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly develop the community.

Mr. Esseku advised beneficiaries of the school uniforms, books and other facilities provided by the African Centre for Human Development to take good care of the materials to improve upon their performances. The Presiding Member charged the assembly, town, area council and unit committee members in the district to help educate all qualified voters in the district to register when the voters registration starts next month.

He warned minors in the area not to register because it is against the laws of the country.

Mr. Onaesis Anderson announced that the ACHD had already trained a group of 20 community leaders in the Senya Traditional set up to monitor the activities of the 100 school children, who have benefited from the ACHD gesture.

He said the programme would be made an annual affair, and thanked directors of the NGO for the assistance.
