Assembly donates mono desks to secondary school

Trabuom (Ash), Nov 10, GNA- The Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Assembly on Friday presented 100 mono desks to the Afua Kobi Ampem Secondary School at Trabuom.

Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District Chief Executive, who presented the desks, said they formed the first batch of 300 desks the assembly pledged the school.

He said the assembly would deliver the remaining 200 desks next year.

The DCE said the assembly had also presented 165 desks to the Trede Basic Examination Centre to stop the practice of candidates carrying their own tables and chairs from the various schools in the area to the examination centre.

Mr Addai-Mununkum said in support of its educational policies the assembly has, over the past two-and-a-half years, spent about 106 million cedis to support some students in second cycle schools, 81 million cedis on teacher trainees from the district and has also rehabilitated some schools and built new ones.

Miss Victoria Annan, Headmistress of the school, received the desks and appealed to the assembly to provide the school with another borehole.

She said the only borehole in the school is inadequate for the increasing student population. 10 Nov 03
