Assembly donates ambulance to hospital

Bibiani (W/R), March 30 GNA—The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District assembly on Tuesday donated a 100-million cedi ambulance purchased from the HIPC Fund to the management of the Bibiani District hospital to enhance its services.

Mr. Christopher Addae, Deputy Minister for Ports, Harbours and Railways and acting District Chief Executive for the area, who performed the handing over ceremony said the assembly considered health care delivery as a vital area in the socio-economic transformation of the country.

He announced that the assembly had hooked all the eight health centres in the district to a two-way communication network for effective co-ordination during emergency situations.

Mr Addae said the assembly had also acquired a tractor and refuse containers to help check insanitary conditions in the district. He said efforts were being made by the assembly to provide additional wards for the hospital.

Dr Kwao Ntodi, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, who received the ambulance on behalf of the hospital thanked the assembly for its contribution towards efficient and effective health delivery in the district and promised that it would be maintained to make it last.
