Assembly disburses 29.2 million cedis to association

Tepa (Ash), Nov 5, GNA- The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly has disbursed 29.2 million cedis as credit to hairdressers associations in the district as part of the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).

Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive said the Assembly had also accessed additional 20 million cedis to the Hairdressers Association through the National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI).

Speaking at the passing out of 17 apprentices of the Institute of United Hairdressers Association (IUHA) after a three-year training at Tepa on Wednesday, he advised the executive of the association to manage the funds well for members.

Mr Kwame Owusu Frimpong, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, promised to provide the association five dryers to support their training.

He advised them to distance themselves from indiscriminate sex so as not to contract HIV/AIDS.

Mr Frederick Boamah, founder of IUHA, thanked the district assembly for its assistance to the association.
