Assembly and MP go to the aid of disaster victims

Breman Asikuma (C/R), April 5, GNA – Mr. Paul K Appiah-Ofori, the Member of Parliament for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, and the District Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Doomson, have presented building materials to some rainstorm victims at Breman Bedum. The materials, including 350 bags of cement and 8 packets of roofing sheets, were bought with part of the MPs share of the Common Fund at a total cost of 57 million cedis.’

The Methodist JSS was among some buildings that were destroyed during a rainstorm that hit the area some weeks ago. Mr. Appiah-Ofori said he was moved by the gravity of the disaster and that the rehabilitation of the school would enable classes to resume immediately.

Rev. Emmanuel Dagbui, who is in charge of the Methodist Church, received the materials and thanked the assembly and the MP and appealed to other donors and philanthropies to assist the victims. 05 April 07
