Aspiring Assembly members urged to remain calm

Reverend Dr Moses Yeboah Asuamah, Head Pastor of the Assemblies of God, Paradise Assembly at Fiapre in the Brong Ahafo, has asked aspiring assembly members to exercise restrains following the cancellation of the elections.

He said in spite of the fact that the candidates must have spent so much resource to prepare themselves for the exercise, all was not lost yet and that it could be a blessing in disguise.

Rev Asuamah gave the advice when he interacted with the Ghana News Agency at Fiapre on Sunday.

“You must have spent time, energy and money to campaign, undertaken various development projects for your communities, all in a bid to win the electorates to your side, but God knows best what is good for you and the nation; so, painful as it is, just take it easy and let us hope for the best in due course,” he admonished.

The district level elections were scheduled to have taken place on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 throughout the country.

However, the Supreme Court cancelled it a few days to the event because the Electoral Commission was deemed to have gone contrary to some constitutional provisions relating to local governance.
